Neighborhood History

The National Parks Service deemed Garden Hills a historic district in 1987.  As advertised by the developer in 1925, “Beautiful Garden Hills” launched in three phases:

  1. Country Club section, Rumson Road east to North Hills Drive
  2. Peachtree section, Peachtree Road to Rumson Road
  3. Brentwood section, North Hills Drive to Piedmont Road

 

 

Neighborhood Schools

Students attend public school at Garden Hills Elementary, Sutton Middle School, and Atlanta North High School. All are International Baccalaureate World Schools. Several private schools and universities are located nearby, including Atlanta International School (K-12).

 

Garden Hills is a half hour from Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport. Go north on Interstate 75/85, follow I-85 N. Take Buford Highway N exit. Merge onto GA-13 N. Take the exit for GA-237 N/Piedmont Road and turn right. Turn left on Garson Drive NE, left on Lindbergh Drive NE, right on Acorn Avenue NE, and right on E. Wesley Road NE to Garden Hills Park.
