Neighborhood Overview

Victorian mansions and large bungalows sit side-by-side amidst decades-old trees. Architecture vacillates from Classic Bungalow and Prairie to Mid-Century Modern to Contemporary with walls of windows. Homes usually feature 2-6 bedrooms while many condos feature 1-2 bedrooms. Condominium buildings generally include three stories and are placed along the main streets.

Prices for single-family homes range from approximately $350,000 to over $850,000. An occasional property is over $1 million. Lofts, condominiums, and townhomes begin at $150,000 to approximately $550,000. Vacant lots may bring over $300,000.

 

Neighborhood Amenities

East of Candler Park Drive, the namesake Candler Park offers a city golf course, playgrounds, swimming pool, sports fields, tennis courts, and picnic areas. Freedom Park stretches along the north side of the neighborhood and fades into trails leading to the Druid Hills Golf Club.

Proud residents participate in the Park Neighborhood Organization (CPNO). The community hosts special events including the popular Fall Fest at the end of September. Approximately 5,000 people attend daily. Events include a tour of homes, races, and huge Ferris wheel, yoga in the park, and all more activities for children. Peruse the art, listen to music, and sample the food.

Neighborhood Schools

Students living in Candler Park are served by the Atlanta Public School District at Mary Lin Elementary School, Inman Middle School, and Grady High School. Acclaimed private schools are also in the area, including The Paidela School (Pre—K through Grade 12). The renowned Emory University campus is northeast of Candler Park.

Next to Five Little Points and a Marta station, the established suburb of Candler Park is a charming enclave in DeKalb County, Georgia. Boundaries extend from Moreland Avenue on the west to Clifton Road on the east, Ponce de Leon on the north to DeKalb Avenue on the south. It is assigned area code 30307.
